Prepare a USB with a capacity of over 4 GB to create a Bootable USB.
Download the ISO file for Windows 7 or Windows 10 (the ISO file contains the installation data of Windows).
Guide to creating a Bootable USB to install Windows 7, 10 on both UEFI and LEGACY standards using Rufus
Advantages:
Can create a Bootable USB that can run on both UEFI and LEGACY standards (UEFI is a new standard that supports more features and utilities than LEGACY; however, UEFI only supports the installation of 64-bit versions of WIN 7, 10, while LEGACY supports full versions of operating systems).
Simple operation, applicable to those who do not have knowledge of Boot WIN and Windows installation.
It is reliable software that is widely used by many people.
Step 1: Download the latest Rufus software by clicking on the following link:
Download Rufus | 1.1 MB.
Scroll down to the Download section > Then select the first Rufus download link.
Step 2: Launch the downloaded Rufus, and you will see the main interface of the software as follows. At this point, make sure to connect the USB to the computer that installed Rufus!
Step 3: On the main interface of the Rufus software to create a Bootable USB for Windows, follow the instructions below:
(1): Select your USB name.
(2): Click SELECT to choose the ISO file (installation file) for Windows 7 or Windows 10 that you downloaded earlier.
(3): Partition scheme: Now you need to press the Alt + E key combination to activate the hidden feature of creating a USB with 2 partitions.
(4): Target system: The system automatically selects BIOS or UEFI.
(5): Volume Label: Set the name of your Bootable USB; it is recommended to name it meaningfully, for example: USB INSTALL WIN 10.
(6): File System: Choose NTFS (recommended).
Step 4: Press START to start the process of creating a Bootable USB to install WIN 7, 10 for your computer, laptop.
Now Rufus will ask you if you want to format (delete data from) the USB. Press OK to start the process of erasing and creating the Bootable USB!
Step 5: If the process of creating a Bootable USB is completed, you will receive a green READ notification.
Note: During the process of creating a Bootable USB, if you encounter errors, it is very likely that the ISO file (Windows installation kit) is corrupted, or the USB is set to read-only mode (find the switch on the USB to switch to read/write mode).
How to check (Boot test) if the Bootable USB is working or not?
Step 1: Download the USB Boot testing software MobaLiveCD at the following link:
Download MobaLiveCD.
Step 2: Right-click on the downloaded MobaLiveCD file > Choose Run as Administrator (run with administrator rights).
Step 3: Select Run the LiveUSB.
Step 4: Choose the USB you want to test.
Step 5: Press No to skip the virtual disk creation feature.
Step 6: Now a new window will appear, and you can test the features in the Bootable USB.
